A clever idea to meet your needs

The "Super VecTwin System", a proprietary ship maneuvering system, enables the ship to maneuver not only forwards and backwards, but also left and right turns, and even during backwards.
Our special rudder "Fish Tail Rudder" has achieved a steering angle of 70 degrees, twice that of conventional rudders, and is used on ships all over the world.
It is also more economical due to the reduced time required for emergency stops and the reduced time required for take-off and landing.

Creating innovation through industry-academia-government collaboration

We are collaborating with Osaka University and other research institutes.
In order to maintain a high level of maneuverability under various conditions and to increase propulsive efficiency, calculations and modelling are repeatedly applied to the design.
Unlike conventional single-shaft, single-rudder vessels, the VecTwin system consists of two rudders behind the propeller that can be moved to large angles independently.
It is believed that such a thrust vectoring mechanism will allow all kinds of maneuvers to be carried out on the vessel, thus making automated operations easier.

About our Factory

In collaboration with the design department, the manufacture of ship's Fish Tail Rudders and steering gears are carried out by highly skilled craftsmen to achieve high precision machining techniques.
In terms of quality control, our inspection department carries out product inspections.
The design and production departments work together to ensure stable quality and supply.

Crewless Maritime Autonomous Surface Ship Project

We are participating in the Nippon Foundation's project to commercialize unmanned vessels by 2025 and are working on the world's first demonstration of an unmanned vessel.
Thirty of Japan's leading shipping companies are participating in the project, which aims to realize a new era of domestic logistics society supported by unmanned vessels, using a container ship between Tokyo Bay and Ise-Bay as the test vessel.
Japan Hamworthy is a specialist in the development of rudders, special rudders and maneuvering systems for ships, and is involved in the research and development of maneuvering areas for unmanned vessels.
The unmanned vessels are expected to be a project that will transform Japan's logistics, economy and society and create a new future for shipping.
